First up we have this black & white Uptown Saddlebag, and since I’m all about black & white accessories, this bag really speaks to that sensibility. It was created by Andrea Smith of Austin, TX. She incorporated a chain strap so she could move it from bag-to-bag, which is a terrific idea!

And this elegant Quattro was submitted by Linda Stiltz. She painstakingly embroidered yellow dragonflies on the front pouch area! Great job Linda!

Lisa Bryson of Statesville, NC created this version of our Quattro bag in very appropriate Fall colors then appliqued her initial onto the front pouch section, which was a great idea!

the various storage areas of the Odyssey
the various storage areas of the Odyssey

It’s been some time since we had an Odyssey in our monthly contest and Penny Carlson of Florida created a particularly good sample! Penny opted to cover her straps with exterior fabric which seems to give her bag a more sophisticated look. She added that she is pleased that she can get so much stuff in her Odyssey and that it really does help keep her more organized.

And this adorable novelty fabric seems tailor-made for this Quattro which was created by Julia Harkins of Phoenix, AZ.

Carol Tillis of St Petersburg, FL said that since she is constantly lugging around sewing supplies to various sewing groups, she needed a big purse to carry all that plus her normal stuff. She loves her DittyRoo which has held up well in Moda’s Allspice Tapestry.

And Pam Smolek of Corunna, MI told me that when she first saw this stained glass dragonfly fabric, she knew she just HAD to use it to make her Lollapalooza! I also LOVE that she managed to find some dragonfly buttons to embellish it with! (Click on the picture to see a larger view) :)

This amazing Carolina CarryAll was submitted by Ruth Abid of Roseville, CA. She said that she originally intended to keep the bag for herself, but upon completion, it totally reminded her of her friend, so she decided to send it to her. Lucky friend, no?

This embroidered Baggalista was created by Maureen Hawkins of Locust Grove, VA. Maureen placed a Japanese motif applique on the front flap and used a Laurel Burch butterfly print for the lining! I think it sets off her exterior denim very nicely!  :)

This Baggalista was created by Dale Whyte of Santa Cruz, CA. I love the fabric she chose for the exterior, which is a Kaufman print with 3 coordinates. I love the way she placed the print strategically in the center of the Flap and the back. Dale added that regardless of how heavily she loads this bags it never bulges or sags!

Here’s Mary Dinkel of Scottsdale, AZ again, and she’s still making bags for her friends! (Lucky girls!) This Quattro was made for a cat lover and she also included a matching Porta-PocketsPLUS Purse Insert! Mary finished off the look by embroidering a “crazy cat lady” onto the front pouch area (design from urban Threads).

This “batiked” Uptown Saddlebag was submitted by Carmen Selzer of Sharon Springs, KS. Carmen has a special passion for batiks and I particularly love the ones she chose for this bag. She has to travel far and wide to get the supplies she needs to satisfy her “bag obscession”. I guess a lot of you out there can identify with that problem, no?

I like the Odessey by Penny Carlson of Florida.
    Something different.

  4. There are so many that I like but the crazy cat lady really resonated with me. I have that embroidery pattern and was wondering what to do with it, now I know my sister will be getting a bag for her birthday.
